On The Black Mo Mystery Show Adventure Race
Just wanted to drop a line and congratulate you on what I understand was your first adventure race as directors. I ran in the men's solo, bib #95, and had a great time. I was frustrated with myself for missing a turn in the bike portion and looking like a goof on the water, trying to get in and out of the kayak while trying to keep the Mo mud from robbing me of one of my watershoes, so probably didn't convey that I had the best time, but it was fun, lot's of fun. The course was the best one I've competed on this year, period. I appreciate the lack of pavement on both the run and ride sections. The ropes section was, for me, what seperates it from an off-road multi-sport race. I let another solo male pass me there as he took the faster, jump in and cross, choice while I waited my turn behind a team of two. I had been in the river already, wanted to do the ropes! Anyway, that was my take on the race. I had a ball once I got over the fact I was not going to place, and just took in all the killer trails, obstacles and scenery that the race had to offer. Please thank Doug and his crew for me as well, they're great people. Put on another and I'll come up from South Jersey again. See you at the races. -Thom A.
A BIG thank you for organizing yesterday’s adventure race. That was hands down the MOST fun I’ve ever had at any race. (And over the last 10 years I’ve probably done more than 50 of them.) It had all the challenge of a tri with the mix-it-up, mystery-laced, party atmosphere of a frat party. I typically follow George Carlin’s motto: “I never participate in the First Annual anything” – but for your races, I’m comfortable making the exception. Extremely well organized, lots of funs, met some great people, and will remember the race for a LONG time. -Ben L.

The weekend of August 20-22, B&E Cycles sponsored a trip to American Adventure Sports Adventure Race Academy for four lucky winners Erin and Brett Cowan, Erica Reese, and Adam Liberatore. The winners were chosen from entries into Deep Six Racing's Off-Road series of events. Here is what they had to say:
On American Adventure Sports Adventure Academy
What a great weekend! I have always wanted to do white water paddling and
rock climbing. What made it even better was the help of the instructors.
Doug and Jason and the rest help me excel at these new disciplines....left
me wanting to do it more.
On Deep Six Racing
Awesome. Deep Six Racing is a great idea and it is right in my own
backyard. I have always wanted to do races like this but never had because
of the traveling and cost that come with it. These races are great for
anyone wanting to get out and challenge themselves. I can't wait for the
adventure race.
-Adam L.
It (The Adventure Academy) was the highlight of my summer. The instructors were some of the best in the world, and yet they really went out of their way to make you feel like you were making huge progress. I left the whole experience feeling much more confident and completely hooked on the sport of Adventure Racing!
-Brett C.
The adventure academy was great!! Thank you to Deep Six Racing / B&E Cycles
for inviting me to go. I learned a lot about the sport of adventure racing
from great people. The experts outnumbered the novices for most of the
weekend which was really awesome. I think that I can speak for all four of
us when I say that I am definitely very excited about the sport of adventure
racing and moreover, it was great to have been given the opportunity to meet
such wonderful people.
